A Gentle Introduction to Generalized Linear Models:
Applications to Ecological (and Other) Data
Dr. Chris Johnson, Professor in Landscape Conservation and Management at UNBC
October 27, 2022
In this 1.5-hour workshop, we will consider the form, function, and pitfalls of the extremely versatile yet often misunderstood Generalized Linear Model (GLM). We will focus on application not derivation including matching your research question to the correct GLM family and link function. We will discuss common functions and commands in both Stata and R. We will start from the GLM beginning, simple linear regression, thus participants require only a basic understanding of statistical principles.
